James Thurman
James “Jimmy” Edward Thurman, 78, of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at his home.
He was retired from Roadway Trucking Company and was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Cleveland. James was a member of the Evening Light Gospel Tabernacle. He was married to the love of his life, Jennie Taylor Thurman for 59 years and was a loving husband, father and grandpa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Junior Thurman and Lois Wilson Thurman.
Survivors include his loving wife, Jennie Thurman; son, James “Jamie” Thurman (Nina); grandchildren: Julia Thurman, June Thurman, Jenevieve “V” Thurman, and James Major Thurman; brother, Eddie Thurman (Becky); and several nieces and nephews.
The service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 24, in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Guinn Green officiating.
The interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Cory Lee, Brian Smith, Tom Gibson, Jason Taylor, Jackie Sexton and Will Carter serving as pallbearers.
His family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 23, at the funeral home. A Masonic service will follow the visitation at 7 p.m.
