Howard Lynn Johnson, Jr., 61, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, went home to be with his Lord on November 29, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Lynn Johnson, Sr., his mother, Jody Page Johnson, and infant brother, George.

He is survived by his son, Howard “Trey” Johnson, III (Amber) and granddaughters, Nevaeh and Willow Johnson, sister, Sharon (Scott) Seigal, brother, John Johnson and half-sister, Aslynn (Frank) Hogue.

Howard excelled in swimming, especially the butterfly stroke, and swam on teams for the Cumberland Youth Foundation (CYF), Signal Mountain, and the Tennessee School for the Deaf (TSD) and was proud to be a member of the USA Deaf Olympics Team in Germany in 1980.

He graduated and was valedictorian of the Class of 1981 for TSD and earned a BS degree from Gallaudet in Washington, DC.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, Dec. 12, at 11 a.m. at Forest Hills Cemetery in St. Elmo.

There will be no public visitation.
