Wednesday, March 9, 2022
Joe Alan Hill, 79, went home to be with his Lord on February 27, 2022, with his children by his side.  We know he had a happy reunion with his wife of 52 years, Jeraldine “Jerri,” who predeceased him in 2020.

Joe was born in Chattanooga on Dec. 8, 1942, and graduated from Central High School, class of 1961.  Joe served in the Tennessee National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve from 1962 to 1968 as a forward observer, assigned to an artillery battery.  During his terms of service, Joe attained the rank of specialist 6th/E6 and had many fond memories of his time in the service, to include his continued love of baseball and sports.  Joe enjoyed working on and racing cars, fishing, Alabama football and anything that involved spending time with his family.  Joe treasured his role as husband, Dad, and Pa.  He worked as a salesman of electrical supplies for most of his career.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Gene Elizabeth Hill; in-laws, Gerald and Alva James; sister, Patty Booth, and brothers-in-law, Bob and Alfred James.
