Junior Rogers, 88, of Benton, departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Starr Regional Medical Center – Athens.
He was born on June 4, 1933, in Decatur to the late Traynor and Bessie Mae Rogers. Junior married the love of his life, the late Myrtle Helen Bramlett Rogers, and together raised two beautiful daughters, and were members of Zion Baptist Church.
During his working career, he was a talented carpenter and enjoyed a faithful and dedicated career with Cook Manufacturing Company. A few of his fondest memories include following his grandsons as they competed on the athletic fields, rarely missing a single game, and grooming his lawn each time he mowed. He was an avid supporter of the Atlanta Braves and enjoyed watching them win multiple pennants over the years. In his later years, he enjoyed greatly the time spent with his daughter, walking around at Parksville Lake (Lake Ocoee), while enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Junior fought very hard until the end, and loved spending time with his friends and family, who will miss him dearly.
In addition to his parents, Traynor and Bessie Rogers and loving wife, Myrtle Helen Bramlett Rogers, he was preceded by his siblings that include his twin brother, James Rogers, Virgil Rogers, Charles Rogers, Jo Ann White, Bobbie Franklin, Pauline Grant, Mary Allen Smith and Brenda Faye Padgett.
Left to cherish the many memories include his beloved daughters, who loved their father dearly, Mitzi (Kenny) Loveday and Judy Ann Rogers; cherished grandsons, that he loved dearly, Keith (Jackie) Loveday, Kyle (Jenny) Loveday and Kurt (Katrina) Loveday; great-granddaughters, Kyleigh and Karleigh Loveday; step-grandchildren, Stonie Fox, Mallie Fox and Reese Childs; and special nephew, Randy Rogers. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of faithful friends also survive.
