Hooker, Jonathan Clell (Cleveland)

  • Monday, June 27, 2022
Jonathan Clell Hooker, or as everyone knew him, Johnny, left this world for his heavenly home on June 22, 2022.

Johnny was retired from Bowater, where he had been employed since he was a teenager. He had a passion for volunteering with the American Red Cross, and he loved trout fishing, relic hunting and going on adventures with his family and friends. He was quite the comedian, and would talk to anyone and everyone he met. He always had a story. Johnny loved the Lord Jesus with all his heart.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Alvin Hooker; mother, Alice Ruth Southerland (Bill); and a host of friends and relatives he will be reunited with in heaven.

He is survived by his son, Jon Hooker; daughter, Jacqueline Daffinson (Josh); grandchildren, Annaliese and Julian Daffinson; brothers, Sammy Hooker (Debbie) and Steve Hooker (Diane); sister, Donna Hooker Mowery; nephews, Jason Hooker (Kasie), Justin Mowery and Jerod Mowery; and niece, Tara Denton (Chad).

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 5, at Philippi Baptist Church from 10 a.m.-noon, with a memorial service at noon.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in Johnny's honor to the American Red Cross.
