Caroletta Cummings, 70, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022, in a local healthcare center in Lebanon, Tennessee.
Caroletta was a 1970 graduate of Riverside High School. She received her Associate Degree at Chattanooga State Technical College. Caroletta was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was an esteemed poet. She wrote many poems that touched the heart and soul of its readers. Caroletta often wrote about her life’s experiences, nature, and people all around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Mason Hunter and Rosetta Hunter; husband, Robert Joe Cummings; brothers, W. C. Hunter, Raymond Hunter, Grady Hunter, and Hershel Hunter; and grandson, Dejion Roberson.
Survivors include two sons, Gerald L. Cummings and Stephen E. Cummings; daughter, Tammey Y. Cummings, all of Lebanon, TN; grandchildren, Brandi Q. Cummings, Brandon L. Cummings, Xavier L. Cummings, Tyrone Preston, Markeith Smith, Shcar L. Cummings, Juscia R. Cummings, Anthony L. Hanserd, Raven L. Cummings, Danyelle M. Cummings, Keanun M. Cummings, and Alexander K. Cummings; a host of great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Rose Allgood, Emma Jean (Clyde) Turner, and Mary Ann (Harold) Graham; brothers, Doyle (Linda) Hunter, Billy Hunter, and Bobby Hunter, all of Chattanooga; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be on Thursday, July 14, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with H. Graham as the eulogist.
