Edward “Eddie” Lewis Oliver, 72, of Chattanooga, joined his heavenly father on Friday, December 30, 2022.

Mr. Oliver, a devoted UT fan, retired from REGIS in 2014. Eddie served on the alumni committee of East Lake Junior High and was often referred to as the “Mayor” of East Lake. He attended Central High School, and he could name every teacher and alumni with whom he attended school, regardless of time passed. He was known to a great number of children in Chattanooga as “Uncle Eddie.” Uncle Eddie never missed any sporting or otherwise important events for his numerous nieces and nephews over the years.

He demonstrated his servant leadership to Christ by helping others experience the lifelong love and joy children brought to his life through his leadership of the adoption committee at Silverdale Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member.

Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Earl Oliver; his mother, Leona Oliver; and brother, David Oliver. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Diane Oliver; his brother, Thomas Oliver (Gaye); Mike Oliver (Illa), Kay Oliver; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and godchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5, in the Silverdale Baptist Church Student Ministry Building with Pastor Tony Walliser officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on Thursday at the church. The Oliver family would like to thank the Erlanger NTICU, the critical care team, Dr. Staten, and Dr. Dart for taking such wonderful care of Mr. Oliver during his final days.

In lieu of flowers, make contributions to the Silverdale Baptist Adoption Ministry, 7236 Bonny Oaks Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
