The Baylor girls' cross-country team won big at Tuesday's Grove Level Stampede Cross Country Invitational in Dalton, GA. On a hot afternoon, the Red Raiders nevertheless controlled the competition.
Mae Mae Powe was dominant in her overall victory, winning the varsity girls race in 18:50—and setting a new course record in the process. Addi Greene was 3rd; and Kadie McDonald (12th), Ella Rogers (13uth), and Laney Fowler (14th) secured the victory. Betsy Williams (16th) & Ellie Bickerstaff (18th) were impact runners.
Team scores: Baylor 43, Walker Valley 62, East Hamilton 78, Fannin County 147, Dalton 191. Baylor's JV was even more dominant. Peyton Roop won her third race of the season, and the JV team (Roop, Gaby Glover, Emily Beardsley, Addy Morgan, & Asha Chavda) scored a nearly perfect 16 points to seal the victory.
