Glenda Faye Henry, 84, a long-term resident of McDonald, passed away on September 13, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at her home.

Glenda was born in Cleveland and was the daughter of the late James and Virginia Dooley.
She was employed by Cleveland Utilities for 30 years and co-managed the family farm for over 50 years. Following her retirement, she traveled with family and spent her time between Tennessee, Michigan, and Maryland. She was a talented artist, always working on a new art project or busy designing and hosting events at her farm.

Glenda was a member of New Haven Baptist Church in Chattanooga.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William “Neal” Henry, and her sister, Maxine Lee.

Survivors include her daughters, Jana Henry Turpin (Larry) of McDonald, and Brittany Henry Graham (Scott) of Clarksburg, Maryland; grandchildren, Kinzy Turpin (Courtney), Josiah Turpin (Morgan), and Olivia King; great-grandson Wyatt Turpin; brother Tom Dooley; several nieces and nephews; and her two dogs that were also considered her “children,” Cody and Jinks.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, at Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Dr. Johnny Nix officiating.

The family will receive family and friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service.
A graveside service will be held immediately following the service at 3 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Larry Turpin, Scott Graham, Kinzy Turpin, Josiah Turpin, James Sumrell, and Logan Brogdon. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Newman and Mike Henry.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at Pryor Lake, 1231 Brymer Creek Road, McDonald, TN, beginning at 6 PM. Please bring a dish to pass.
