Max Rogers Wilkey III
Max Rogers Wilkey III, 64, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on October 11, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on Oct. 1, 1960, in Chattanooga, to Max and Wanda Wilkey. He graduated from Hixson High School and received a bachelor's at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Roger worked for Hamilton County for 30 years, serving 15 of those years at the Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s Office as a medical investigative specialist. He served on the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department Reserve Force and was a member of the Masons East Ridge Lodge #755.
Roger was preceded in death by his father, Max R. Wilkey, Jr.
He is survived by his mother, Wanda Wilkey; sister, Karen Thompson; children: Justin Wilkey (Alyse), Elizabeth Hall (Alex), and Preston Wilkey (Kaley); grandchildren: Nolin, Liam, Kaylee, Clayton, Aiden, Jackson, Avery, Kensi, Lainey, and Theodore; Nephew, Greg Thompson (Victoria); and Niece, Staci Bruce (Will).
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 14, and 10-11:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Services for Roger will follow at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, at the North Chapel with Reverend Amy Nutt officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
