Held Long Career With Precept Ministries

  • Saturday, April 13, 2024

Kevin Joseph Maucere passed away on Easter morning after a short but difficult fight with cancer. He was 38.

Kevin was born in Somerset County, N.J. on July 9, 1985. Kevin moved with his family to Kansas City, Mo., in 1985, where he lived for his young childhood years, and where he attended Oakwood Christian School. Kevin later moved to Chattanooga with his family in 1994.

Kevin lived in Chattanooga and Harrison, throughout the rest of his life and graduated with a high school diploma from Gateway Christian School in 2004. During high school, Kevin was very involved in music and drama, as he played the piano and acted in numerous plays and theatrical productions in the community. Kevin was also involved in karate during high school and earned a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo.

Kevin worked for 20 years at Precept Ministries in logistics. He thought of his coworkers as family. Kevin was also involved in community theater for many years as an adult in the Chattanooga and North Georgia area, and he was at his happiest when on or near the stage.

Kevin was a kind and sweet soul. He had a wide smile and a large, infectious laugh. He had a way of making everyone feel happy and better about themselves. He was loving and generous.

Kevin’s faith in Jesus Christ guided him in life and through his months of sickness. He clung to the blessed hope of the final Resurrection and never wavered in his faith.

Kevin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Richard and Joan Gillard, his paternal grandparents, Casper and Marjorie Maucere, his uncle and aunt, Edward and Joan Maucere, his uncle, Jeff Maucere, and his cousin, Craig Maucere.

Kevin is survived by his parents, Dr. Raymond Maucere and Cheryl Maucere, his brothers, Jason Maucere and Scott Raymond Maucere, his sisters-in-law, Karin Maucere and Michelle Maucere, his niece, Camryn, and his five nephews, Nathan, Alex, Lucas, Josiah, and Caleb. He was his nephews' favorite uncle.

A memorial service will be held at Crossroads Baptist Church, 9122 Ooltewah-Georgetown Road, on Saturday, April 20, at 2 p.m. The family will receive visitors at one o'clock. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made in his memory to Precept Ministries.

I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. John 11:25
