Reverend Paul Lamar Winston, 74, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 11, 2024.

He was born in Chattanooga, and he grew up in the Chattanooga - Ringgold area. Paul graduated from Ringgold High School, was a U.S. Army veteran, and he worked in property management with Willowdale Realty, but his greatest passion was the work he did for the Lord as a pastor for the Church of God all over the country. He enjoyed horses, fishing, hunting, model cars, water skiing, and spending time in nature, but most of all, spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Sr. and Pauline Winston, son, Daniel Dewayne Winston, two great grandchildren, Dejon and Brailyn Winston.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 56 years, Carolyn Gail Thompson Winston, two sons and their spouses, Bishop Paul Lamar Winston, Jr. and his wife, Pastor Kristie Winston; Reverend Timothy Albert Winston and his wife, Ginger Winston; brother, Albert Lynn Winston Jr., four grandchildren, Chastidy Winston, Daniel Winston, Nathaniel Winston, and Matthew Winston, three great grandchildren, Ace Finney, Cheilyn and Lamar Zeno, several nieces, nephews and other extended family, friends, and Special Brother’s in the Lord.

The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Paul Lamar Winston Jr. officiating.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5–8 p.m. and prior to the service on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:30 p.m.

Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens South.

All arrangements are by Lane Funeral Home and Crematory South Crest Chapel, Rossville.
