Phyllis Allegra Armstrong, 86, of Collegedale, Tennessee, passed peacefully in her sleep on February 3, 2025.

Phyllis was born on March 6, 1938 in Troy, Maine the daughter of Lewis and Allegra Fleming.

Phyllis was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandma. She loved her family greatly. Phyllis enjoyed traveling and road trips up to Canada and Maine. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, and feeding her hummingbirds. Phyllis collected all things Pillsbury and enjoyed baking. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her two daughters; Tammy and Larry Cowan of Collegedale; Luane and James Black of Carrollton, Ga.; one son, Randy Armstrong of Collegedale; four grandchildren; Janie Bryan, Julie Black, Jonathan (Johjo) Velazquez-Perry and Lauren Armstrong; one great-granddaughter Harper Bryan, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Armstrong, Sr; brothers, Richard Fleming and Roger Fleming; mother, Alegra Fleming; father, Lewis Fleming; son, Philip Gordon Armstrong Jr.; and granddaughter, Marylynn Black.

Services will be conducted at McDonald Road Seventh-day Adventist Church at 5440 McDonald Road, McDonald, Tn. 37353 on Sunday, Feb. 9, with visitation from 1-2 p.m. and a Celebration of Life service at 2 p.m.
