Chester Hayes, 84, of Rock Spring, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
He was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area where he raised his family. Chester was in the Army National Guard and was a foreman at DuPont for over 40 years. He had a great love for wildlife and loved to feed birds, squirrels, turkeys, and deer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Martha Bell Hayes; his wife of 59 years, Patricia L. Hayes; and his brother, Wallace Hayes.

Chester is survived by his son, Bruce Hayes; two nieces, Rachel Hayes and Kim Hayes; and a nephew, Lamar Hayes.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home, Rossville. A burial will follow at Rock Spring Cemetery in Rock Spring, Ga..
