James "Carrol" Swafford
James “Carrol” Swafford, 70, of Evensville, Tennessee, died on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Spring City Healthcare in Spring City, Tennessee.
He was born on Oct. 12, 1952, to the late John Coval and Mary Lucille Harris Swafford. Carrol attended Bledsoe County High School. He was a self-employed farmer and carpenter. Carrol loved to hunt, fish, and ride horses. He was of the Baptist faith.
Carrol was also preceded in death by his brothers Ricky and Johnny Swafford, and his sister Connie Swafford.
Survivors include his wife Lena P. Swafford of Evensville, Tennessee; his children Chris (Candace) Swafford and Ernie Shrum both of Spring City, Tennessee, Candy (Michael) Allport of Dayton, Tennessee, and Susie (Kelly) Foutch of Monteagle, Tennessee; his sisters Sandra (Wayne) Simmons, Kathy (Rick) Dixson, Julia (Willard) Swafford, Tammy (Jeff) Cunningham, and Sheila Stinnett all of Pikeville, Tennessee, and Jewel Smith of Dayton, Tennessee; his brothers David (Karen) Swafford, Dean (Kathy) Swafford, and Robert (Annette) Swafford all of Pikeville, Tennessee; his nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 21, at 4 p.m. at Community Baptist Church, 2500 Summer City Road, Pikeville, Tn. 37367, with Rev. Jimmy Jewell and Rev. Rick Dixon officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 21, from 1-4 p.m. at Community Baptist Church.
