Jeanne S. McLaren, 74, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Friday, October 22, 2021. 

Jeanne was born July 3, 1947, in New York City, to the late Frank and Marjorie Hayes Seibold.

She graduated from Marymount College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology.   After graduation Jeanne worked as a case worker at the New York Foundling Hospital. Later, she transferred into law enforcement as an investigating probation officer for the Manhattan Supreme Court.  She was passionate about Civil Rights and American politics.

The entire family will miss her home cooked meals, sense of humor, and her generosity.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie Hayes Seibold, and World War II veteran Dr. Frank Seibold.  

Surviving are her devoted husband of 49 years, Vietnam Veteran Gordon McLaren; son, Iraq War Veteran Andrew McLaren; brother, retired American Diplomat Robert H. Seibold, and grandchildren, Zoe, Alex, Andrew Jr., and Chichi.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 6, at noon at the Coulter Chapel of the Lane Funeral Home.

Interment services will be held at a later date at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donation be made to the Forgotten Child Fund P. O. Box 5932, Chattanooga, Tn. 37406, in honor of Jeanne’s legacy.
