U.S. Navy Veteran Retired From TVA As A Pipe Fitter

Gary Lewis McDonald passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025, in a local hospital with his son and niece at his side.

He was a loved father and grandfather. Gary worked tirelessly on his pond and his back yard projects.

Gary was married for 53 years to Connie McDonald. He was in the Navy 1965-67, a Mason with the Soddy Daisy Lodge, and a member of UA Local 43 Plumbers and Steamfitters. He worked at TVA Sequoia as a pipe fitter and retired in 2001.

Gary is survived by his wife, Connie, son, Brent McDonald, grandchildren, Evan McDonald, Ava McDonald, sister, Nina Templeton, and Casper his beloved sniffy dog that loves to bark at everything!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Jim McDonald, and sisters, Ruth Lewis and Jimmie Mulkey.

Graveside services will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery on Thursday, Feb. 20, at 11 a.m. with military honors.
